Bottled Passion 我的如意狼君

Hmm.. I'm not sure if this is the official poster but this is what's showing on TVB's official site. It looks really cheesy! :X

Here is the character map for this series:

There is not that many "big names" in this series so I think TVB is hoping that the combination of Raymond Wong, Niki Chow, and a Lee Tim Sing series (Rosy Business, No Regrets) will bring in the ratings.

Bosco Wong Restuarant Opening in Malaysia

Bosco invested in a restaurant in Malaysia and said that he kept it low key before the announcement. He only told a handful of people which included his mom and Myolie Wu.

It seems like Bosco and Myolie are a lot more open with their relationship now. Myolie had an interview with a Malaysian radio station after the Astro awards and mentioned that Bosco cooks for her. hehe.. Check out the clip HERE.

Laughing Gor之潛罪犯 Movie Trailer

Are you excited for the movie or are you over the Laughing character? I'm interested in seeing the movie even though I can't understand what the plot is based on the trailer. Is Bosco alive? Also, I'm kind over watching Laughing as an undercover because I don't know how anyone can be that stupid to actually believe it now. I hope they come up with a more interesting plot. I can see them ending the movie by killing the Laughing character off for dramatic effect, but I would feel cheated since they brought him back from the dead the first time to create this franchise just to kill him off again in the end.

Astro Awards 我的最愛頒獎典禮2011 Media Clips

Below are some random clips from the Astro Awards. I could only find a few of the actual awards, but the real show will be broadcast in December

Bosco is saying that he didn't want Myolie to thank her since she worked hard on her own and if she wanted to thank someone it should be her costars. Then they ask if he would propose if she won the TVB Best Actress award as well. hehe.. so cute.

The Voice 3 (超級巨聲3) Finale

I didn't realize that it was the finale already! There were 6 contestants left and after they each performed, the judges picked 3 of them to go to the finals and the last spot was fan voted in.

Here's 譚嘉儀 Kayee Tam's first performance of the night:

And the winner is...

Random TVB Couples

Matthew Ko and Tracy Ip were recently caught together going on a date and they are rumored to be dating.

They recently attended a wedding event together, where he pretended to propose to her.

However, before rumors of Tracy and Matthew popped up, a TVB actor who you might recognize for playing small roles in series named 韦家雄 was rumored to be chasing/dating her. Now he's rumored to be chasing/dating Rachel Kan instead.

Source: Weibo and Apple

This is interesting if this is all true. Tracy Ip had a reputation for being a gold-digger because she had lots of property and she claimed to make a lot of money from the stock market, although many people thought it was because she chased after wealthy men. However, a lot of this was fueled by one of her Miss HK rivals, Erica Yuen, who might have been badmouthing her due to jealousy or to gain attention. Maybe the rumors were never true, or maybe she realized that money does not equal happiness. As far as I know, neither of those actors that she's rumored with is particularly wealthy or famous. If she wanted to date someone for fame, she would have aimed a lot higher. I do think Tracy and Matthew would make a cute couple though.

Astro on Demand Awards

Astro on Demand is based in Malaysia and a bunch of TVB actors are heading there today for the award ceremony. Basically, the only people who go are ones that are going to get an award so congratulations to the people in the picture! haha. Based on the nomination list that you can view on their website, I think you can tell that Vincent Wong and Sharon Chan are probably going to win the promising actor/actress award.

Pictured artists: Sharon Chan, Myolie Wu, Michael Tse, Kevin Cheng, Tavia Yeung, Ruco Chan, Vincent Wong, Kate Tsui, Ron Ng, Raymond Lam, Bosco Wong

Curse of the Royal Harem Promotional Event

Some of the cast members of Curse of the Royal Harem rode on an open top bus around Hong Kong to do some promotion for their show. This includes Myolie Wu, Nancy Wu, Charmaine Li, Jess Summ, Sire Ma, Oscar Chan, Ben Wong, and a few others.

More pictures and quick thoughts up to episode 21:

Kate Tsui and Sammy Sum dating?

Kate Tsui is rumored to be dating fellow TVB actor, Sammy Sum, who is probably most famous for being in love with Bosco Wong in Lives of Omission. They supposedly fell in love while filming 2 series together: Forensic Heroes 3 and Lives of Omission.

hehe... In the series, both Kate and Sammy were in love with Bosco, but in reality, Kate and Sammy might be together instead?

They were recently spotted having dinner together before heading to dance class together. However, they did leave separately. Sammy's rumored ex is JJ Jia while Kate was rumored to be with Ron Ng although he currently has a girlfriend.

Kate has a higher status in TVB right now since she's playing more lead roles while Sammy is only a supporting actor but he's also a talented singer and pianist.

What do you think? Are they just friends or are they actually dating? Sammy looks better with the facial hair and they would make a cute couple if this is true.

Endless Exchange of Enjoyment to air in January

Endless Exchange of Enjoyment will begin airing on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012 at 8:30 p.m. This series stars Myolie Wu, Johnson Li, Selena Li, Vincent Wong, Kiki Sheung, and Angela Tong.

This series just filmed about 2 months ago so I'm a little surprised that it's going to air already, but then again, it's considered one of their smaller budget series. Although, it's not a grand series, I still hope that it's good. Some of my favorite series from this past year were the smaller series.

Laughing Sequel- Potential Criminals

The stars of the Laughing movie sequel will be on an upcoming cover of TVB Weekly, and the movie will be out December 29th. That's a pretty quick turnaround since they're still filming the series! Here are some pictures courtesy of Weibo:

Janice Man, Michael Tse

Francis Ng, Bosco Wong, Kate Tsui

Are you excited for the second Laughing movie or are you sick of this franchise?
For me, I loved his character in E.U. but I'm a little over it now. It's not very believable that everyone keeps falling for his undercover routine, unless people are just that stupid. I wish they were more creative with using his character.

Random News for the day

Forensic Heroes 3 is the highest rated series of the year so far.

2011 45th TVB Anniversary Gala Video and Review

via fasttvb
(I'm not sure if this video will get taken down so make sure you watch it before it does!)

I thought the TVB Anniversary Gala was a mixed bag. There were some good parts but there were also parts that I didn't care for or felt like it was too slow. They should have utilized the artists some more and extended the last game show skit with the real/fake/rumored couples.

Here are my top 3 favorite moments:

1. Fuk Luk Sau at the 1 hour, 3 min. mark: Mr. HK parody with Wong Cho Lam, Johnson Li, and Louis Yuen
They went all out in their revealing costumes and I was cracking up the whole time.

2. The Couples Guessing Game at the 1 hour, 40 min. mark: They used a few siu sangs and fa dans and had them guess their partner by looking at a part of their body. First, Moses had to guess who Aimee was by looking at all the ears. Then, the funniest part starts at the 1 hour, 45 min. mark. At first, they had Kate guess which one was Bosco's tongue since they had a lot of passionate scenes in Lives of Omission, but then they dragged Myolie into it to guess instead. She guessed correctly by saying that Bosco had the shortest.... tongue. haha

3. Chok Chok Chok at the 39 min mark: It wasn't super entertaining but I did like all the artists doing a little catwalk. The best pose goes go Eric Tsang at the end.

天與地 When Heaven Burns Official Poster

This is the official poster for When Heaven Burns. It gives off a very cool and sexy vibe.

My Favorite Series 2002-2011

I think I've watched about 90% of the TVB series that have aired since 2002. I started renting series to watch a few years ago, and since they would release the discs pretty slowly, I started to also rent or buy older series. Some series were amazing, while others were quite awful, but I can't help but watch them all! I am basically addicted to TVB. I'm going to start making a list of TVB series for every year and give a quick thumbs up or thumbs down, but for now, here is a list of my favorite series for each year. Please note that these are just my personal favorites and not what I consider to be the best series that year.

2002
Golden Faith

I thought that this was such a great family drama. I love watching Gallen's relationships with his siblings as well as the love story between him and Jessica. This is a classic TVB series.

Jessica Hsuan rooting for Bosco and Myolie to be TVB King & Queen

From a Ent.qq.com interview:

TR= Reporter JH= Jessica

TR: It was rumored that while filming Curse, you and Myolie were in discord. Is this true?

JH: Our collaboration was a happy one. Prior to Curse, Myolie and I had only collaborated once before and did not have the opportunity to work together again until now – this was our second collaboration. Both of us portrayed characters that were different from what we’ve done in the past and the entire process has been very smooth and happy. She gives me a good impression, as she is very hardworking, which does put some pressure on me to stay up to par. During filming, she was very focused everyday and always did her homework, constantly thinking about how best to portray the character – therefore, I truly hope that she will be able to win the TV Queen award this time around.

TR: TVB’s anniversary awards ceremony is coming up soon and both you and Myolie are nominated for TV Queen. Do you feel you have a good chance at getting the award?

JH: Me? Of course not! I’m only accompanying the main contenders in the race. It probably won’t be me, since I’ve already left TVB, so my chances are slim. Myolie and I worked together for 2 months and I could see that she worked really really hard to play her character well. She definitely gave me a ‘fresh’ feeling this time, as I’ve always felt that she was typecasted in the past, just like me….when I saw her performance this time, I was very surprised – wow, I didn’t know she could be so evil!

TR: How about TV King? Who do you feel has a good chance?

JH: That’s even more difficult to choose! Bosco Wong, Michael Tse, Kevin Cheng – all 3 have a huge chance. For me, I hope Bosco gets it because I’m rooting for Myolie to win -- if Bosco were to win as well, they will be extremely happy – let’s allow them to have a beautiful memory in their lives that they can share together.”

Source: AsianFanatics

It's a pretty long article but I think it's pretty interesting. Jessica gives her thoughts on TVB and being typecast into roles. That's probably why I'm happy to see her and Myolie cast in Curse of the Royal Harem. Many people seem to think that they don't have that ancient look, but maybe it's because they're not used to seeing them like this? Yes, some people do look better in ancient costumes than others but if they kept casting the same people in roles, it would be pretty boring and repetitive. I'm glad they were at least given this opportunity.

Who do other TVB artists support for Best Actor/Best Actress?

TVB Weekly asked 34 TVB artists who they supported for the Best Actor and Best Actress for the 2011 Anniversary Awards and a majority of them voted for Myolie Wu and Kevin Cheng. I always like seeing who their colleagues are rooting for.

26 artists selected Myolie Wu for TV Queen. Those people include: Nancy Wu, Raymond Lam, Natalie Tong, Linda Chung, Crystal Tin, Wayne Lai, Evergreen Mak, Ruco Chan, Kate Tsui, Sam Lee, Ron Ng, Louis Cheng, Bosco Wong, Raymond Cho, Vivien Yeo, Mandy Wong, Ben Wong, Sire Ma, Koni Lui, Derek Kwok, Sharon Chan, Christine Kuo, Dodo Cheng, Kevin Cheng, and Johnson Li.

17 artists selected Kevin Cheng for TV King. These people include: Myolie Wu, Christine Kuo, Ben Wong, Sharon Chan, Sam Lee, Wayne Lai, Natalie Tong, Samantha Ko, Raymond Cho, Elena Kong, Crystal Tin, Vivien Yeo, Nancy Wu, Dodo Cheng, Kenneth Ma, and Raymond Wong.

The other votes for TV Queen are as follows: 4 votes went to Fala Chen by Tavia Yeung, Kitty Yuen, Samantha Ko, and Raymond Wong. 2 votes went to Tavia Yeung from Aimee Chan and Fala Chen.
The other votes for TV King are as follows: 6 votes to Wayne Lai from Edwin Siu, Raymond Lam, Ron Ng, Linda Chung, Aimee Chan, and Pierre Ngo. 3 votes each to Bosco Wong and Steven Ma. Koni Lui, Kate Tsui and Kitty Yuen are rooting for Bosco while Fala Chen, Evergreen Mak, and Johnson Li are rooting for Steven Ma. Michael Tse has Bosco Wong and Derek Kwok on his side while Tavia Yeung and Mandy Wong are rooting for Raymond Lam.

Of course, there are hundreds of artists out there but it is interesting to see what this sample is saying. I'm surprised that Michael Tse doesn't have that many people picking him for TV King. There are more people choosing Bosco and Steven over him. There is still a lot of fans that want him to win, but in the end it's all up to TVB. Do they see him as a capable leading actor? Can he bring in the ratings, prestige, or money to TVB for them to give the award to him? It's up to TVB to decide, but I actually see Kevin as the safer choice right now. Either way, I see them both getting an award that night.

Jazz Lam

Jazz Lam is so cute- I'm rooting for him to win Most Improved this year. He made a video to thank everyone for his nomination, and I love that he always mentions Kevin Cheng and how he views him as a real big brother.

Check out the video he made... I had to put it behind a cut since I think it autoplays.

2011 TVB Anniversary Award Nominations

Best Actor

I'm glad to see that Stephen Au is included in the Best Actor nomination. I was hoping that he would at least get a nomination but I was thinking that they would stick him with the Supporting Actor nomination even though I consider him leading. I'm also surprised to see Ruco Chan in here instead of Raymond Wong who was rumored to be on it. I think he's the dark horse to win this since he was not nominated in the Most Improved category where he was expected to win. The race is still between Kevin and Michael Tse, but my choice this year would be for Kevin Cheng.

Best Actress

I'm surprised to see that Myolie is nominated for Curse and not Ghetto Justice since she is getting some mixed reviews for Curse so far while being mainly praised for Ghetto Justice. I think a majority of her detractors were not her fans to begin with and are trying to come out strong against her since she's the biggest threat to receive the award this year. I think Myolie is doing a very good job so far and from the clips, I think she'll do even better in the future episodes. When I look at comments from TVB watchers who are not over-invested fans, most of them can't believe she's such a bitch in this series which I think is a good thing since that means she's doing a good job.
I don't know why they nominated Tavia Yeung for Rippling Blossom when she was more considered the lead in the other 3 series she's in. Nice to see Elena Kong nominated.
I think the race is between Fala and Myolie still but I think Myolie deserves it this year.

Favorite Male Character

My choice would be Chilam Cheung but I think the winner will be between Michael Tse and Kevin Cheng.

Favorite Female Character

I think Linda is basically a guarantee to get this.

Best Supporting Actor

Hmm.. I don't really have a preference for this but it's rumored to go to Ben Wong.

Best Supporting Actress

Why would they nominate Aimee Chan for her tiny role in The Truth instead of Forensic Heroes 3? Her character is much more memorable there. Nice to see Elena Kong nominated in this category as well! I would be happy with either Sharon on Nancy winning.

Most Improved Actor

Jazz Lam for the win! I think he did a great job in Ghetto Justice!

Most Improved Actress

I'm rooting for Mandy Wong, but I wouldn't be surprised or mad if Sire Ma won. Actually Cilla Kung has a good chance too since her role in Yes Sir, No Sir was pretty popular

Best Series- Basically all the series were nominated.
I think Forensic Heroes 3 will win since they are getting great ratings. I'm not sure what I would consider to be the best series so far since FH3 and Curse of the Royal Harem has not finished yet, but my personal favorite so far is The Rippling Blossom.

I also love Ghetto Justice so that's probably why I'm rooting for all the actors from that show! haha

These are just my thoughts. :)

Curse of the Royal Harem Episode 1-9 Thoughts

Random Thoughts:

  • This show is getting really good with Jessica finally fighting back! Jessica's character was a little boring to me in the beginning, but I'm glad that she's finally taking a stand! The other scene I really liked with Jessica was when she was with Sunny and he thought he was going to die.
  • I think Myolie's character is not very likable so far, but I think she's doing a really good job with her role playing a bratty and immature empress. I totally cackled when Nancy was freaking her out and got her to confess her wrongdoings, but I wish that Myolie suffered some more. I also really like seeing her with Joel because I think you see the real her, instead of what her mom wants her to be.
  • People need to stop complaining about what their ages are supposed to be and how Jessica's role is supposed to be younger than Myolie's and blah blah blah. It's a story, not a documentary.
  • I also like Jess Shum and Vivien Yeo's bickering. I wish it lasted longer, and I also hope to see Jess more in this series.
  • The scenes revolving around the males is pretty boring to me. I'd rather see more catfighting!
  • Although I really like seeing Joel and Myolie together, I also like seeing him with Sire Ma. I'm not a fan of Joel Chan as a person, but I do think he's a pretty good actor and I like his role here.
  • I can't wait to watch the rest of the series. I hope the end doesn't disappoint.

More Beauties

TVB is promoting the 5 Beauties of TVB as their first line artists and that includes: Myolie, Tavia, Linda, Kate, and Fala. After them, there's another crop of female artists that are considered another 5 Golden Flowers that lines up behind them. My original guess is that it would Aimee Chan but someone put together this other list which excludes her and has Elaine Yiu instead.

(From left to right: Elaine Yiu, Nancy Wu, Natalie Tong, Selena Li, Sharon Chan)

Do you agree with this list? Is there anyone you would replace?

More TVB Awards Rumors!

Ben Wong (Lives of Omission) is rumored to get the Best Supporting Actor while Ruco Chan will get Most Improved Male (but that's kinda obvious). Other competitors going up for for Supporting Actor is Pierre Ngo and many other veterans including Law Lok Lam, who gained worldwide recognition for dying 5 times within 72 hours in 5 different series.

Best Supporting Actress will be between Sharon Chan and Nancy Wu, with more buzz around Sharon Chan right now. I would be happy with either of them getting it but I'm thinking Sharon has a higher chance since she's never received an award before. Also, she'll be in her first leading role along with Fala and Roger. Other nominations will include Aimee Chan, Helena Ma, Mannor Chan, Natalie Tong, and Vivien Yeo. No rumors for Most Improved Female yet.

Who are your choices for Best Supporting Actor/Actress and Most Improved Actor/Actress?

Rumored List for TVB Best Actor/Actress Nominations

BEST ACTRESS
Charmaine Sheh - My Sister of Eternal Flower
Myolie Wu - Ghetto Justice
Fala Chen - Lives of Omission
Kate Tsui - Lives of Omission
Maggie Cheung - Forensic Heroes III
Tavia Yeung - The Other Truth
Linda Chung - Yes Sir, Sorry Sir
Jessica Hsuan - Curse of the Royal Harem
Liza Wang - Home Troopers
Louise Lee - Only You
Selena Li - Life and Times of a Sentinel
Sonjia Kwok - 7 Days in Life
Yoyo Mung - Only You
Kiki Sheung - Til Love Do Us Lie
Liu Xuan - Grace Under Fire

BEST ACTOR
Michael Tse - Lives of Omission
Bosco Wong - Lives of Omission
Kevin Cheng - Ghetto Justice
Wayne Lai - Forensic Heroes III
Moses Chan - Yes Sir, Sorry Sir
Raymond Lam - Men with no Shadows
Steven Ma - Life and Times of a Sentinel
Kenneth Ma - Life and Times of a Sentinel
Joe Ma - Relic of an Emissary
Raymond Wong - The Other Truth
Chilam Cheung - The Rippling Blossom
Roger Kwok - Wax and Wane
Ron Ng - Wax and Wane
Sunny Chan - Curse of the Royal Harem
Eddie Cheung - Til Love Do Us Lie

Comments: This is only a rumored list so it may not be totally accurate.

The Best Actor award is between Kevin Cheng and Michael Tse. There's a new rumor that they might give the award to Chilam Cheung because they really want him to film Triumph in the Skies. I'm surprised that Raymong Wong is nominated for The Other Truth but Ruco Chan isn't but it's probably because it's almost guaranteed that Ruco will be winning Most Improved Actor. Wax and Wane was not a very good series and it didn't have good ratings, but the one shining spot of that series was Roger Kwok! He showed so many layers in his acting and actually think this is the best I've ever seen him. There might've been more noise surrounding him if the ratings were higher.

The Best Actress is between Fala Chen and Myolie Wu. I think TVB is trying to create more drama to get ratings for their award show by generating this fight and I'm pretty sure they'll try and add in Tavia, Kate, and Linda to the gossip. Myolie has experience, ratings, and a good role on her side (and it helps that they're filming a sequel!) so I think she has a very good chance to getting the award. However, anything can happen and Fala can end up with the award. I'm not a hater, but I don't think Fala acted very well in her role in Lives of Omission, but her role was likable. I think people tend to confuse the characters with the acting. Also, I think her acting was better in Grace Under Fire so if they wanted to nominate her for an acting role, it should have been for that. But it's TVB so it's kinda expected. LOL. I think a better "fight" would have been between Myolie and Linda since her role was memorable and they're creating a sequel for her too, but I think she's guaranteed the Favorite Female Character Award. Tavia is currently winning one of the polls for Best Actress, which is no surprise to me because I think she has one of the most rabid fanbases online. She's nominated for The Other Truth, which she filmed while she was sick and they also had to cut her screentime because of this. I could tell that her sickness affected her speech, which is a shame because I think this was a very good role for her.

Kayee Tam- Episode 13 of The Voice

Wow, I thought that Carrie's performance of 你今晚想念的人是不是我 was very powerful! She did have a few weird notes and she let the emotion get the best of her at the end, but I thought that added to her performance because I could feel how genuine it was. I thought she deserved a higher score than she received. Go Carrie! I'm rooting for you!
