TVB Kings filming together

Moses Chan has been pulled out of the Amy Wong series to film a 30 episode (modern) grand production with Wayne Lai. No word on the female leads, but a lot of the current fadans are busy filming other series right now. I hope that they utilize Alice Chan for this series since I think she will look good with either guys.

Below are some other series that featured a pair of TV Kings.
1. Last One Standing with Roger Kwok and Kevin Cheng (loved this series!)
2. Beyond The Realm of Conscience with Moses Chan and Kevin Cheng (this series was pretty boring and did not like either of their characters very much)
3. Various series with Moses Chan and Bowie Lam (honestly, I'm sick of seeing them in series together)
4. Upcoming series with Moses Chan and Wayne Lai- They actually filmed a few series together before but Wayne usually had the smaller supporting roles. This time, I would say that Wayne is ranked higher since he is a 2-time winner (and that his acting is much better)!

Casper Chan Botox Job

Casper Chan recently got an endorsement deal in which she has to get botox on her nose and chin to show off the results... and I think she looks horrible! I don't know how this will convince people to get this procedure. I don't know if part of the reason she did this is to get more acting opportunities, but there's nothing special about her acting so I don't really see her moving up beyond minor acting roles. What do you think of her makeover? If you were paid to get botox on your nose and chin, would you?

TVB Artist Glossary (Males A-C)

There are a ton of artists listed on TVB.com. You would probably know the name of the lead actors but may not know all the supporting actors, green leafs, minor actors, hosts, musicians, etc. I'm going to attempt to go over all the artists that they have listed and give a brief description of each of them based on what I know and see of them. I say attempt because there are over 350 people and I have no idea when I'm going to finish or if I will even remember to complete this but I'm going to start off with the guys.

MC Jin- Winner of Most Improved Award at the 2011 TVB Awards. He'll soon be seen in Highs and Lows although I don't know how much further he'll develop in Hong Kong since his new baby was born and he mainly resides in the U.S. now.

Myolie praised for her tears in Ghetto Justice 2

(Spoilers ahead!)
Article via: Oriental Daily, Mingpao
Translation from aZnangel @ http://asianuniverse.net/forums/

Last night the two hour finale aired, but the Ghetto Justice fans were still actively discussing. It was a happy ending, but some people had doubts on the Law Ba's murder case. In the series, Law Ba killed Dai Chiu Long (Evergreen Mak), but used "self-defense" as a reason, and the court eventually ruled him not guilty. Netizens actively discussed online, stating that there is no legal evidence that this could happen.

Netizens praised Myolie's valuable tears. In the two hour finale, Myolie cried 9 times and cried 9 different ways. She displayed expressions of pain, helplessness, guilt, panic, etc. Netizens said her performance was just perfect.

What do you think about the last verdict? I do think if this was a real scenario, a not-guilty due to self-defense is a realistic verdict. However, you would need a good lawyer to convince the jury to be on your side. Since Law Ba is supposed to be a brilliant lawyer, he probably brought up the right points on why Myolie's mom's life was at risk if he did not react right away. He also had Evergreen's son speak on his behalf to testify that his dad was capable of murder. Although the jury is supposed to decide just based on the facts, they are real people with emotions who might have sided with Law Ba after hearing Evergreen's own son talk about the horrible things. There's a reason that lawyers ask witnesses questions that they know will lead to an "objection!" because if it's removed from the record, the jury can not completely erase it from their mind and that could sway their judgement. Also, this is just a drama so I would want a happy ending! haha. If the verdict had been guilty, I'm sure there would have been a ton more complaints.

Myolie had previously been criticized for her crying skills, but I think she has greatly improved in that area in the last few years. I actually think a lot of actors currently only have one "cry", in which they are just loud and yelling through their tears no matter the situation. Myolie has been guilty of this in the past, but after the criticism, she worked on her skills since she now knows that you can't be complacent in acting. The last 2 episodes in Ghetto Justice 2 displayed this by portraying her emotions appropriately in the different situations, thus making it more touching when she did cry. I think her performance in this series is one of her best to date.

Miss Hong Kong 2012 (Fashion Post)

Congratulations to Carat Cheung for winning Miss Hong Kong 2012! Jacqueline Wong got 1st runner up and Tracy Chu (who looks like TVB artist/reporter Sarah Song to me!) got 2nd runner up.

I didn't really have a preference for who wins, but I thought Melanie was awful. The top 3 seemed to give the best answers and remained calm and elegant throughout the whole process. The winner was actually supposed to be chosen in the last 10 minutes through an audience vote. As soon as I heard that, I knew it was going to be a disaster because I knew their servers would crash and it did.

Anyways, there were many guests who were part of the event that included TVB stars (Raymond Lam, Myolie Wu, Ruco Chan, Wayne Lai, etc.), musicians (Kay Tse, Grasshopper, Alfred Hui, etc.), former Miss Hong Kongs, and superstars such as Andy Lau and Carina Lau!

Ghetto Justice 2 Review/ Final Thoughts

I just finished the whole series and decided to give you my thoughts. There might be some spoilers but I tried not to give anything big away.

Random thoughts:

Ghetto Justice 2 Promo Event #3

Ghetto Justice has an average rating of 32 points for their last week, and the season finale will air this Saturday. To celebrate, they decided to pass out egg tarts. Since Kevin is in mainland filming, Myolie's assistant wore a Kevin mask to pretend he's there. haha

I'm loving this series so far. It's a good mix of drama with a touch of comedy and I enjoy all the pairings. There's a lot of touching moments and the last 2 episodes look really exciting. I'll probably give a better review once it's done.

Grace Wong Youtube videos

I think Grace is probably one of the friendliest people at TVB. She always seems to make a lot of friends due to her warm and outgoing personality. Anyways, I was looking on youtube to try and find a clip of her singing, but I found her vlogs instead! She only seemed to make 2 but I think the second one is interesting since she talks about the entertainment industry.

JJ Jia accidentally becomes a third party

Hong Kong action star, Fan Siu Wong, has recently been pursuing JJ Jia who was rumored to have recently broken up with Sammy Sum. However, the media recently uncovered that he has actually been married for 10 years and has a 15 year old daughter and 10 year old son!

JJ accepted a telephone interview with TVB to explain the situation. She admitted that they were in the beginning stages of a relationship after meeting each other in March at Timmy Hung and Janet Chow's wedding. She did not know that he was married and was only clued in when the media alerted her. JJ says that she is just a normal girl looking for love and would like her partner to be a good guy with a clean conscience. She can not accept that he is already married and she is a victim in love. You can watch the interview here: VIDEO

Poor JJ! She seems like a very sweet girl who seems to keep getting her heart broken. I believe her when she says that she was not aware he was married, especially since the media just found out! Fan Siu Wong is basically scum for deceiving JJ, his wife, and his kids. I hope JJ finds a better guy soon!

Sunny Chan returning after a year-long absence

Sunny Chan recently won one of the Favorite Character awards at Singapore's Starhub awards. In fact, it was his first award in 14 years! His last award was also in Singapore at the Singapore International Film awards where he won the Silver Screen Award for Best Actor for the Hong Kong movie, Hold You Tonight. This is why Sunny says that Singapore has been very good to him.

Although Sunny has only one series released this year, Greatness of a Hero was actually filmed in 2009. He actually has not been filming for over a year so that he can take care of his autistic son. The family did not realize how serious the situation was until a 1 1/2 years ago, so Sunny has been busy teaching him arithmetic and reading, as well as how to open up to others. He'll soon return to TVB to film 初五啟市錄, which is a pre-modern comedy, with Raymond Wong, Sonjia Kwok, and Lin Xia Wei.

I look forward to seeing Sunny on my TV screen again! I really like him and I definitely think he's under-rated. I prefer him in strong, serious roles such as Phoenix Rising and War and Destiny.

Rosy Business 3 in the works

Rosy Business 3 is confirmed to start filming in March of 2013 with Wayne Lai as the male lead and Lee Tim Sing as the producer. There is no word on Sheren Teng joining the cast yet, but Wayne hopes that she will join as well. The story is still being finalized and will be a new story, and not a continuation of either the first or second series. No other cast members have been confirmed yet.

Are you excited for another sequel? Actually, these weren't really sequels. It's more like the same cast and producer with a different story. I'm hoping it's a modern series since the first one was ancient and the second was pre-modern. However, Lee Tim Sing prefers pre-modern/ancient and the last modern series he made was in 2005: Fantasy Hotel.

Seasons of Love filming

Seasons of Love will consist of 4 different love stories with Kenneth Ma portraying a private detective to tie in all the stories together. Ben Wong will be the narrator of the series. One of the stories consists of a love triangle between Nancy Wu, Oscar Leung, and Vincent Wong.

In real life, all three are good friends. Nancy was one of Vincent's "groomsmen" for his wedding while her and Oscar are old friends. Vincent and Oscar are also good friends who can be seen chatting in between takes.

Ron Ng and Myolie Wu bike scenes for Triumph in the Skies 2

Ron Ng, Myolie Wu, and the 4 other mechanics (Adrian Chau, Yeung Chiu Hoi, Tsang Ming, Rocky Cheng) in Triumph in the Skies 2 filmed a bike scene today. It seems like they're doing a lot of outdoor scenes in the beginning.

I don't get the skirt look, especially when you're exercising! lol

New Upcoming Series

1. Producer: Lam Chi Wah (Tiger Cubs, Highs & Lows, Wish and Switch)
Filming: October
The cast will include Selena Li and Sharon Chan so far. Sharon previously stated that this will be a modern series.

My guess for the male lead would be Michael Tse since he doesn't having upcoming series planned. A lot of the other male leads at TVB are busy filming other series, Raymond Lam will be concentrating on his music for the rest of the year, and Roger Kwok usually splits his filming time between China and Hong Kong.

2. Producer: Tsui Ching-Hong (War of Genders, To Catch The Uncatchable) He has not filmed for TVB these past few years.
Filming: November
Cast: Wayne Lai

A Great Way to Care is supposed to end filming in October so Tavia Yeung is a possibility for female lead. They were supposed to film Detective Columbo together but Tavia had a prior filming engagement so she couldn't do it, but I think they would be an interesting pair. Otherwise, I am hoping for someone a little older like Alice Chan, Joyce Tang, or Christine Ng. Bobby Au Yeung is also supposed to film a series before the end of the year and a Bobby/Wayne series would be amazing!

What are your guesses for who might join these casts?

A Great Way to Care II Blessing Ceremony

A Great Way to Care II had its blessing ceremony today.

Cast: Alex Fong, Yoyo Mung, Tavia Yeung, Aimee Chan, Ram Tseung, Ben Wong, Edwin Siu, Eric Li, Lee Sing Cheung, Oscar Leung, Christine Kuo, Power Chan, Matthew Ko, Oceane Zhu, Leanne Li, Law Lok Lam,  etc.

Tavia is in a wig and heavy makeup because part of the storyline consists of her going undercover in a nightclub. I'm not a fan of the wig but I like the contacts. I look forward to seeing what her regular look will be. I like Yoyo's look in this series.

Triumph in the Skies 2 Filming Scene

Myolie Wu and Chilam Cheung plays half-siblings in the new Triumph in the Skies 2. This scene is about Myolie having to bail Chilam out from jail.

They both look so young here! I think it's because Myolie has minimal makeup while Chilam just never ages!

Ghetto Justice 2 Promotional Event (#2)

The cast of Ghetto Justice 2 held their 2nd promo event. Kevin was there since he is now back in China filming Ip Man. Myolie cut her hair short since she is now filming Triumph in the Skies 2 and did so at the producer's request. Now that the Olympics are over, the ratings for the Monday episode jumped to 32 points! I loved the original and I'm really loving the sequel so far too. The cast chemistry is one of their strongest selling points.

Official 45th Anniversary Series

Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles
October 22- December 14, 2012 @ 8:30pm
Cast: Damian Lau, Idy Chan, Kenneth Ma, Tavia Yeung, Ron Ng, Elena Kong, Sire Ma, Mary Hon, JJ Jia, Vincent Wong, Ben Wong

The Confidant
November 5- December 14, 2012 @ 9:30pm
Cast: Wayne Lai, Michelle Yim, Maggie Siu, Nancy Wu, Natalie Tong, Raymond Cho, Edwin Siu, Raymond Wong, Oscar Leung, Helen Ma, Aimee Chan, Christine Kuo, Kelvin Lee

So here is the upcoming schedule for the rest of the year:

8:30 timeslot
King Maker (currently airing, 28 episodes)
The Last Steep Ascent (begins September 17, 25 episodes)
Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles (begins October 22, 40 episodes)

9:30 timeslot
Ghetto Justice 2 (currently airing, 21 episodes)
Divas in Distress (begins August 27, 20 episodes)
Highs and Lows (begins September 24, 30 episodes)
The Confidant (begins November 5, 30 episodes)

*This means that Ruse Of Engagement (Ron Ng, Ruco Chan, Yoyo Mung) and Sergeant Tabloid (Michael Tse, Niki Chow) will not be aired before the Anniversary Awards. Although there's no word yet on the date of the award ceremony, it was on December 5th last year (the day after Curse Of The Royal Harem ended). I wonder if they'll have the ceremony after December 14th which is the day both anniversary series ends.
The only switch I can imagine is if they air Sergeant Tabloid in place of The Last Steep Ascent. This will give both Michael Tse a boost if they wanted to push him towards TV King. Also, they recently re-filmed some scenes for Sergeant Tabloid so I thought they would air it soon. However, I don't know if I can imagine them pushing back Lee Tim Sing's series to December like they did last year. If I can make a switch, I would replace Divas in Distress with Sergeant Tabloid. Divas in Distress does not look very interesting to me.

eta 8/13/12: Lin Xia Wei has been added to the cast.

Raymond Lam- Because of You Music Video

It's a nice song that highlights Raymond's voice. I'm already enjoying his songs from his upcoming new album more than his last album.

Oscar Leung singing the Tiger Cubs themesong

Oscar Leung was at a mall event and he sang the themesong for Tiger Cubs (which is originally sang by Joe Ma). What do you think? I think he's pretty good!

Jessica Hsuan and Joe Ma Partnerships

I am actually not a big fan of the Jessica Hsuan and Joe Ma partnerships since I found them really boring together, but I really like them together in Tiger Cubs! Neither of them really pursues each other and they just naturally get together since Joe is always there as Jessica tries to get over the death of her fiance. This tumblr post from episode 12 is basically my favorite scene of them (contains spoilers!). Joe has already re-signed with TVB on a per series contract and Jessica is working out her contract with them, so it looks like they're getting ready for the Tiger Cubs sequel!

Here is the order in which I would rank their collaborations:
1. Tiger Cubs
2. The Drive Of Life
3. A Handful Of Love
4. Lady Fan

好心作怪 Costume Fitting

The title has now changed to 好心作怪.

30 Episodes
Producer: Nelson Cheung
Cast: Michael Miu, Niki Chow, Bosco Wong, Vincent Wong, Joey Meng, Benz Hui, Akina Hong, Benjamin Yuen, JJ Jia, Mandy Wong, Elaine Yiu

Michael Tse is also part of the cast but I think he might still be on vacation at the time.

Kenneth Ma clarifies Myolie Wu Rumors

Recently, Kenneth Ma and Myolie Wu have been rumored together due to them filming series together. Kenneth clarified the rumors here:
