2013 Young Choice Annual Festival

Congratulations to Chilam Cheung for winning Most Popular Hong Kong and Taiwan Actor and Myolie Wu for Most Popular Hong Kong and Taiwan Actress at the 2013 Young Choice Annual Festivals. Triumph in the Skies II was voted the Most Popular Series. This was based on online votes by youths through the video website Todou and their own official website.

46th TVB Anniversary Gala Fashion and Pictures

Happy 46th birthday! 

The 46th TVB Anniversary Gala averaged 29 points with a peak of 31 points, so as promised, they will be donating HK $31 million to the various charities they support. I thought it was a very entertaining show for the most part, especially the Inbound Troubles skit, the magic segment, and the Raymond/Kate dancing segment.

Fred Cheng joins Voice Entertainment record label

Fred Cheng officially joins TVB's Voice Entertainment (the Chinese name sounds better because it directly translates to "stars dream") record label along with fellow Voice contestants Hoffman Cheng, Yao Bin, Ronald Law, and Grace Wong.

Here are some tidbits from the press conference:

• Fred's album will be released in May or June of next year. He hopes that one of the songs will be his own creation.
• Fred's first single will be written by Eric Kwok! He was one of the judges on The Voice of Stars and was nicknamed Ironman due to his resemblance to Ironman played by Robert Downey Jr.
• Jade Solid Gold (JSG), TVB's music countdown with performances, will go through some changes. The most notable was that JSG was usually only open to singers with TVB-contracts, but now it will be open to everyone.  

So happy for Fred! I will definitely be buying his album when it comes out. I hope there will be a duet with Alfred on his album since I loved their performance together during the competition. I'm actually somewhat surprised that so many of them got signed, but I guess I shouldn't be since they've been attending a lot of functions and doing a lot of performances together. I can definitely see Grace being pushed to do a lot of dance music since she's a great dancer.

Return of the Silver Tongue Official Poster

The themesong will be a duet with Kristal Tin and Fred Cheng. I noticed that Fred is now near the front of the poster due to his new popularity, but there was barely any news about him or his role while the series was airing. haha

This poster is so crowded! I wonder if this breaks any type of TVB record for most people on an official poster...

Housewife Madam (師奶Madam) Costume Fitting

This will be the fourth costume fitting this month and the third this week! Maybe they're trying to squeeze in as many series as possible before the new rule of needing a mostly completed script before the start of filming. haha.

The latest costume fitting is for Housewife Madam produced by Lee Yim Fong. This will star Edwin Siu, Priscilla Wong, Mandy Wong, Raymond Cho, etc.

This is probably my least anticipated series of all the recent costume fittings. I like Raymond Cho and Mandy Wong but the cast and story in general seems so drab. I'm not a fan of Priscilla Wong's acting, but this producer seems to really like using her, and her wig is really ugly.

Ox Head Loves Horse Mouth 牛頭愛搭馬嘴 Costume Fitting

Ox Head Loves Horse Mouth 牛頭愛搭馬嘴 had its costume fitting today which included: Johnson Li (who replaced Bobby Au Yeung as the male lead), Joey Meng, Oscar Leung, Rebecca Zhu, Fred Cheng, William Chak, etc.

• Joey and Johnson will play a pair. Joey will be a cop who is the head of her department and Johnson will play her subordinate.
• Oscar will be surrounded by females chasing after him including Shrimp Head who doesn't want to let him go, Sisley Choi, and Rebecca Zhu. Rebecca will be someone who can really fight.
• Fred's character thinks highly of himself and that he is very good-looking, but is only a photographer. He will pair up with Sisley. 

I wish it was still Bobby in this series since I was looking forward to him and Joey to pair up. I'm always happy to see more Oscar and Fred though!

Vinegar Lady 醋娘子 Costume Fitting

Vinegar Lady 醋娘子 had its costume fitting today which will star: Myolie Wu, Ron Ng, Him Law, Eliza Sam, Gigi Wong, Alice Chan, Koo Ming Wah, Derek Kwok, Koni Lui, Jade Leung, Lily Leung, Nathan Ngai and many others. Louis Cheung is also part of the cast but was not present at the costume fitting.

I really hope Myolie and Ron sing the theme song for this because I loved when they did the theme song for Lost in the Chamber of Love.

Myolie Wu's Birthday Party

Myolie's birthday was on November 6 and she had a birthday party with her friends to celebrate. I follow some of the TVB stars on Instagram and that's where I found these pictures. I'm always nosy about which stars are friends with others outside of the work place, so I was definitely looking around for TVB stars I recognize.

People I can spot: Oscar Leung and his girlfriend Tina on top, Kelly Fu-Linda Chung-Grace Wong to Myolie's left, Adrian Chau-Cheu Hoi Yeung-Christine Kuo to her right, and Summer Joe on the bottom.

I'm thinking some of these people arrived later since they weren't in the group picture: Johnson Li, Oscar Leung and his girlfriend Tina, Sharon Chan, Mandy Wong

Ron Ng and Myolie Wu at Citywalk Mall promotion

Ron Ng and Myolie Wu were invited to promote Citywalk Mall's Christmas Lighting event where they took pictures and sang songs for the crown. They were also asked about Sire Ma's recent scandal about dating another woman and Myolie said that Sire is a good girl and that she sent a SMS message telling her that she will support her, to be strong, and don't be too unhappy.

2014 Sales Presentation Fashions

It's that time of the year again where most of the TVB stars gather in their favorite prom outfits! Yup, it's the Sales Presentation for the 2014 series and programs. The presentation hasn't aired yet, but I'll give you my opinions on their outfits. Feel free to comment as well!

There's no official group picture that I can find but I'll list out who I can make out in the picture. It does give you a slight idea of their position but anyone standing in the walkway area is in very good standing. I think that Kristal Tin has successfully moved up into one of top leading fadan positions considering where she is in the picture, as well as her being the lead female in some upcoming series.

The Voice of Stars- Hoffman Cheng and Yao Bin Interview

I was listening to a radio interview that Dodo Cheng did with Hoffman Cheng and Yao Bin from The Voice of Stars and I just learned an interesting tidbit. Dodo revealed that she took a peak at the results before the finale and Fred was way ahead in first place, but second place was actually Corinna Chamberlain. After Hoffman's performance on finale night (since votes still counted during the show), he overtook Corinna in votes! I didn't think the finale night votes would matter, but Corinna probably had her worst performance that night, while Hoffman did better and he had a lot of support from his fellow colleagues.
