Raymond Lam recently won JSG's Asia Pacific Most Popular Male Singer award and there was some controversy due to the music companies' boycotts and how awards are only distributed to those who attend. I see this point but awards also should not be distributed by seniority. Raymond did seem to have a great music year since he had a successful album and concert. I don't live in Hong Kong so I can't guage how popular each male artist is, but when I order my chinese music online, his cd and dvd is always near the top of the bestsellers list. Watching the clip also made me tear up for him and he doesn't deserve the backlash that he has been getting, especially for something he had no control over.
