I am actually not a big fan of the Jessica Hsuan and Joe Ma partnerships since I found them really boring together, but I really like them together in Tiger Cubs! Neither of them really pursues each other and they just naturally get together since Joe is always there as Jessica tries to get over the death of her fiance. This tumblr post from episode 12 is basically my favorite scene of them (contains spoilers!). Joe has already re-signed with TVB on a per series contract and Jessica is working out her contract with them, so it looks like they're getting ready for the Tiger Cubs sequel!
Here is the order in which I would rank their collaborations:
1. Tiger Cubs
2. The Drive Of Life
3. A Handful Of Love
4. Lady Fan

Jessica Hsuan Radio Interview
Jessica Hsuan was recently involved in a scandal in which she was accused of being a diva and hard to work with while filming in a series in China. Jessica shot back and released a statement about the "7 Deadly Sins" while working there. You can read more about it at Jaynestars, but she also went on a Hong Kong radio station to clarify more about what happened. It's known that Jessica is known for going to work on time and just expects her coworkers to do the same, and that's why there are so many rumors about her being hard to get along with. I think she's also not afraid to speak her mind, which we should all applaud her for since a lot of people may view females as weak and quiet. I'm on her side on this one. She would not have even said anything if one of her co-stars did not try to smear her.
You can check out the interview on todou.

Jessica Hsuan rooting for Bosco and Myolie to be TVB King & Queen
From a Ent.qq.com interview:
TR= Reporter JH= Jessica
TR: It was rumored that while filming Curse, you and Myolie were in discord. Is this true?
JH: Our collaboration was a happy one. Prior to Curse, Myolie and I had only collaborated once before and did not have the opportunity to work together again until now – this was our second collaboration. Both of us portrayed characters that were different from what we’ve done in the past and the entire process has been very smooth and happy. She gives me a good impression, as she is very hardworking, which does put some pressure on me to stay up to par. During filming, she was very focused everyday and always did her homework, constantly thinking about how best to portray the character – therefore, I truly hope that she will be able to win the TV Queen award this time around.
TR: TVB’s anniversary awards ceremony is coming up soon and both you and Myolie are nominated for TV Queen. Do you feel you have a good chance at getting the award?
JH: Me? Of course not! I’m only accompanying the main contenders in the race. It probably won’t be me, since I’ve already left TVB, so my chances are slim. Myolie and I worked together for 2 months and I could see that she worked really really hard to play her character well. She definitely gave me a ‘fresh’ feeling this time, as I’ve always felt that she was typecasted in the past, just like me….when I saw her performance this time, I was very surprised – wow, I didn’t know she could be so evil!
TR: How about TV King? Who do you feel has a good chance?
JH: That’s even more difficult to choose! Bosco Wong, Michael Tse, Kevin Cheng – all 3 have a huge chance. For me, I hope Bosco gets it because I’m rooting for Myolie to win -- if Bosco were to win as well, they will be extremely happy – let’s allow them to have a beautiful memory in their lives that they can share together.”

It's a pretty long article but I think it's pretty interesting. Jessica gives her thoughts on TVB and being typecast into roles. That's probably why I'm happy to see her and Myolie cast in Curse of the Royal Harem. Many people seem to think that they don't have that ancient look, but maybe it's because they're not used to seeing them like this? Yes, some people do look better in ancient costumes than others but if they kept casting the same people in roles, it would be pretty boring and repetitive. I'm glad they were at least given this opportunity.

Curse of the Royal Harem Episode 1-9 Thoughts
Random Thoughts:
- This show is getting really good with Jessica finally fighting back! Jessica's character was a little boring to me in the beginning, but I'm glad that she's finally taking a stand! The other scene I really liked with Jessica was when she was with Sunny and he thought he was going to die.
- I think Myolie's character is not very likable so far, but I think she's doing a really good job with her role playing a bratty and immature empress. I totally cackled when Nancy was freaking her out and got her to confess her wrongdoings, but I wish that Myolie suffered some more. I also really like seeing her with Joel because I think you see the real her, instead of what her mom wants her to be.
- People need to stop complaining about what their ages are supposed to be and how Jessica's role is supposed to be younger than Myolie's and blah blah blah. It's a story, not a documentary.
- I also like Jess Shum and Vivien Yeo's bickering. I wish it lasted longer, and I also hope to see Jess more in this series.
- The scenes revolving around the males is pretty boring to me. I'd rather see more catfighting!
- Although I really like seeing Joel and Myolie together, I also like seeing him with Sire Ma. I'm not a fan of Joel Chan as a person, but I do think he's a pretty good actor and I like his role here.
- I can't wait to watch the rest of the series. I hope the end doesn't disappoint.
